CSAA is a reciprocal insurer. There are special charter documents for reciprocal insurers.
Rules and Regulations:
Reciprocal insurers are governed by the California Insurance Code and a document we call Rules and Regulations. The Rules and Regulations cover corporate matters, such as the manner in which the Board of Directors is selected and the manner in which policyholder dividends are declared. The Rules and Regulations may be amended by the Board of Directors from time to time. Our Rules and Regulations can be viewed by clicking here.
Subscriber Agreement:
Reciprocal insurers have a special process for binding insurance policies. Policyholders of reciprocal insurers are called "subscribers" and must agree to become subscribers in a short document called "Subscriber Agreement". Our Subscriber Agreement can be viewed by clicking here.
